2021 vintage was characterized by regular seasonal conditions. Spring rains favored vegetative development and created water reserves to face the dry summer. After Easter, a brief drop in temperatures slowed the growth of the shoots in the cooler areas of Chianti Classico. There were no pressures from fungal diseases like powdery mildew and downy mildew. The summer, although dry, was mitigated by spring water reserves and did not experience excessive heat waves. From the end of August, high daytime temperatures were balanced by cool nights, promoting optimal grape ripening. Sangiovese harvest began around September 20, in line with previous vintages.
